The CoyoteFunder Process

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is the activation of a network of individuals to raise funds for their University of South Dakota passion, typically via digital channels. Funds may be raised for scholarships, campus projects, departmental activities, clubs and student organizations, etc. – crowdfunding projects can be focused on most any University of South Dakota fund. Projects must have reasonable, definable and attainable fundraising targets.

Who are the donors?

Donors are individuals such as alumni, friends and family. Occasionally, they may also be complete strangers! How many people your project reaches is up to you!

Can I raise more than my funding target?

Yes! There is no limit to how much you can raise. We encourage setting a realistic goal and if achieved, you have the ability to stretch your goal further!

What is a project?

When you publish your idea or event, we call it a project. For your idea to become a project, you must have a clear goal and be able to explain how you will use the funds you raise.

What is a project leader?

Project leaders are enthusiastic individuals who will email, text, direct message, and call their personal and professional contacts to raise money for their crowdfunding projects. Ultimately, crowdfunding projects are successful because the project leaders were active fundraisers. Each project should have at least three project leaders before launch.

Are there any fees?

We cover the cost of the platform, so 100% of gifts go directly to your project.
